Brass
3-4 players
Ages 12+ (complex rules)
Game Length: 3 hrs
Mood: Serious, but not grimly so.
Slot: Morning

Go back to the '80s... the 1880s, that is, as the Industrial Revolution sweeps over Lancashire, England. In Brass, you and your opponents are capitalists spending your riches on industries like coal, cotton, and iron. As with any Martin Wallace game, you'll have to walk a fine line between saving your money and spending it. You can always take out a loan, but take out too much at once and you'll run out of money. Razor-sharp strategy and immaculate attention to detail round out this fine game.

Pax Robotica
3-4 players
Ages 12+
Game Length: 2 hrs
Mood: Serious, but not grimly so
Slot: Evening

Three countries stand on the brink of perpetual war. After decades of sanctions, summits, and sneak attacks, they are finally ready to amass armies of War Bots and fight each other.

Which is great for you, because you'll be selling these nations their War Bots.

And business is about to boom.

Pax Robotica is an economic game in which all players build and sell War Bots to three warring nations. Players earn money for selling Bots. It's permitted (and encouraged) to sell your Bots to both sides of the same battle. The player with the most money at the end of the game wins.

N.B. Pax Robotica is my prototype.

Hey everyone: EDITED to swap out Monsters with Vampires - I looked at the BG request thread and thought this would be more fun. Plus it can accommodate one additional player!

1. Your Forum name: hackryder
2. Game system: FURY OF DRACULA (GW/Fantasy Flight)
3. Minimum and maximum players 3-5
4. A descriptive paragraph about the game (your elevator pitch): Fantasy Flight reissued the Games Workshop original in 2006, and it's a great 80's game with lots of atmosphere! From BGG: "In this game of Gothic adventure, one player takes the role of Dracula while up to four others attempt to stop him by controlling Vampire hunters from the famous Bram Stoker novel. Dracula has returned, and is determined to control all of Europe by creating an undead empire of Vampires. Dracula uses a deck of location cards to secretly travel through Europe, leaving a trail of encounters and events for the hunters that chase him. Meanwhile, the hunters attempt to track and destroy Dracula using the limited information available to them." Fans of Scotland Yard deduction type games, 80's board-crawlers, and Bram Stoker's Dracula (not Team Whomever) will love this game.
5. Rating: 13+
6. Mood: horror, vampire, dracula
7. Slot: 12P-2P
8. Game Length: (game should take no more than 2.5 hours)

1. Your Forum name: hackryder
2. Game system: Shadow Hunters (Z-Man re-release)
3. Minimum and maximum players 4-8 (much more fun with more players!)
4. A descriptive paragraph about the game (your elevator pitch): Shadow Hunters is a survival, bluff, and deduction boardgame that's described as a hybrid of "Werewolf," "Bang," and "Clue." Players are one of three groups of characters (Shadows, Hunters, or Civilians), concealing their identity from others. The key to victory is to ID your allies and enemies early. Through card play, battles with other players, and use of your unique special ability (or secret victory condition!), your identity is slowly revealed to others. Once revealed, you will be attacked by your enemies and it's a free-for-all until only one faction- or often one player - is the only one left alive!
5. Rating: 16+ for dark themes & boardgame violence
6. Mood: serious or silly, whodunnit!, dark, & fun
7. Slot: 2:30-4pm
8. Game Length: Games play fast: usually 4-6 rounds can be played in 2 hours

1. Your Forum name:
2. Game system: Inevitable
3. Minimum and maximum players 4-6
4. A descriptive paragraph about the game (your elevator pitch): Inevitable is a new boardgame being released this summer by independent game company Dystopian Holdings. From the webpage description: "Inevitable is a satirical board game set in a slapstick dystopian future. Every play is designed to provide 2-6 players with hours of quality entertainment, danger, violence, betrayal, mayhem, and laughs. It contains a robust amount of high explosives and dead things. It was designed by people who think Orwell's 1984 is a comedy and the Necronomicon is a romance." The game is a boardgame with immersive RPG-esque world building, and it has a vintage 1980's vibe. Fans of the Paranoia RPG universe, Steve Jackson's Illuminati, the humor of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and the original boardgame crawl Talisman should enjoy this game. The first print run was fully funded by Kickstarter and was only for 100 sets. I was one of the backers so will get one of the first games to ship. Be one of the first people to try it out!
5. Rating: 16+, dystopian & satirical violence & mayhem
6. Mood: equal parts dark & silly
7. Slot: 6:30P
8. Game Length: Estimated time: 3.5 hours

I'm posting to say that I edited my original submission. I've traded out "Monsters Menace America" for "Fury of Dracula," after reading the BG suggestion thread. I've already amended my original post.

Thanks!

Ok fogies, it's time to bring out one of the legends. Who remembers...

1. Your Forum name: BaronHelix
2. Game system: Shogun (aka Samurai Swords)
3. Minimum and maximum players: 2-5

Similar in many ways to Axis and Allies, but with more interesting choices and much greater balance of play. Will you lead the greatest army to noble victory, or will you hire the ninja to assassinate your rivals? It's a dice-chuckin' good time!
5. Rating: "anyone"
6. Mood: "serious"
7. Slot: "Any"

If you need anymore slots, I can bring my Settlers of Catan 3-D but I don't want to run it. Is that an option?

You are standing in an open field west of a white house, with a boarded front door. There is a small mailbox here.

I remember it and own a copy. Remember, when you are in a weak position, hire a ton of ronin to scare away the other daimyo.
