“The Road to Hogwarts,
A Sorcerously Modified Pathfinder Game Set in the World of Harry Potter

After the rather successful publication of Crucio Praecantrix: Or Howwe to Bedevil a Wyche in Twice-Sevenne Easy Steps, life as a Wizard during the Reign of Aethelred (he was ‘Ill-Advised’ for a reason) had become considerably hairier.

Such strange happenstance then – and at that most inauspicious time of Samhain, no less – when four rather interesting travelers arrive at the Crooked Billet Tavern. A brash wizard from the wild moor, a sturdy witch from the valley broad (with a very small servant), a steel-eyed wizard from from the fens and a beautiful – but snarky – witch from the glen.

And what of these tales of ghostly rides and unquiet dead?

[PCs will be Fifth-level Sorcerers/Arcane Bond (Wand), playing the Founders of Hogwarts in the very early years. Pre-genned PCs. Will add Beauxbatons and Durmstrang to round it out to 6 players - if interest is high.]”

“Deans Corners, a little villages in the middle of nowhere, a crossroads town off the Aylesbury Turnpike. It’s a quite place, where nothing every happens. If you blink while driving between Arkham and Aylesbury you might miss it.

So, why are the bodies of three mobsters from Arkham’s O’Bannion crime family right outside of Deans Corners? What caused their car to wreck? Did it also hacked apart the one who survived the crash? How did this man empty 100 round drum from his Tommygun and hit nothing? What were they doing here in the first place?

Maybe this quite little middle of the nowhere village has some bigger secrets.

Part of Miskatonic River Press’ early 2012 release, Forgotten Corners of Lovecraft Country Volume 1.”

12-4pm
Role Playing Game
Lamentations of the Flame Princess RPG Grindhouse Edition
The Monstrous Siege of Skaarsport
Players: 5
GM: dorje
Age Requirement: 18 years old or higher
Mature, Dark, Tactical, Very Random
Room: 3D
Table: 4
“Rumors abound of an army massed in the mountains headed toward the city of Skaarsport. This is of course impossible. You are a soldier in King Olaf’s army and one of the first to return to Skaarsport from war overseas. All the world’s armies are headed home.

Scouts were sent to investigate these rumors, and returned news of the burned village of Kriggle. They brought you a half-mad Priest of Thor who ranted about giants and an army of bones. This of course, is also impossible. Giants and monsters are just stories from the Eddas.

Players will lead the defense of a large city against the massed hordes of the damned. This will almost certainly be impossible as well.

The setting is the city of Skaarsport, which will be generated largely on the fly using the Vornheim supplement. This is low-magic and low-fantasy.

LOTFP is a simplified clone of Basic D&D, freely available at lotfp.com. It is ugly and brutal. Many pre-gens will be provided.”

Age Requirement: 13 years old or higher
Competetive, Resource Management, Euro Style
Room: 3G
Table: 6
“This event is a playtest of two of my board games: The Sword Merchants and Prime Time. Both are economic-style Euro board games.

SWORD MERCHANTS
Four races stand on the brink of war. After years of failed peace negotiations, the Elves, Dwarves, Orcs, and Kobolds stand ready to fight.

Which is great news for you. Because you’ll be selling them their weapons.

The Sword Merchants is a heavy economic game set in a fantasy land, where players manufacture four different weapons and sell them to four different races. Demand for each type of weapon will differ throughout the game, but a well-crafted weapon will last longer. The more weapons that are sold to a particular region, the more likely that region will go to war.

The game takes about 120 minutes to play. It takes a maximum of 4 players. The player who makes the most money at the end of the game wins.

PRIME TIME
You and your opponents are starting up your own television networks. You will need to woo actors and produce television shows. You’ll do this by savagely outbidding your opponents and being first to nab the great new television shows.

Prime Time is an auction game with a unique and very cool bidding “”musical chairs”" bidding mechanism. It takes about 60-90 minutes to play, depending on the number of players. It takes a maximum of 6 players.”

BrickQuest is a dungeon delving game (along the lines of HeroQuest) built and played with Legos. Embrace your inner desire to have little plastic warriors, wizards, elves, and rogues defeat untold little plastic monsters.”

Sometimes people do bad things for good reasons.
Sometimes it’s better for one to die than for many to suffer.

“2011 Spiel des Jahres Kennerspiel Game of the Year Winner

7 Wonders lasts three ages. In each age, players receive seven cards from a particular deck, choose one of those cards, then pass the remainder to an adjacent player, as in Fairy Tale or a Magic: the Gathering booster draft. Players reveal their cards simultaneously, paying resources if needed or collecting resources or interacting with other players in various ways. (Players have individual boards with special powers on which to organize their cards, and the boards are double-sided as in Bauza’s Ghost Stories.) Each player then chooses another card from the deck they were passed, and the process repeats until players have six cards in play from that age. After three ages, the game ends.”

“In this fast-paced cooperative dice game, you take on the role of investigators struggling to combat one of the Ancient Ones, vast powerful creatures that dwell in the space between dimensions.

You’ll face adventures in and around the museum where the Ancient One’s imminent return has been causing a number of bizarre events. By succeeding, you’ll acquire rewards, the most prized of which is an Elder Sign, which is used to seal away the Ancient One and win the game.

But the clock is always ticking and each night at midnight, the Ancient One gets closer to waking up in our world and laying waste to all of humanity.”

“Come learn to play one of the top new strategy games of 2011 – from one of the designers himself!

EPIGO is an abstract strategy game for 2 or 4 players, in which players must lock in 3 moves per turn, in the hopes they will best their opponent and capture three of their pieces first. EPIGO takes about 5 minutes to learn, and games take around 15 minutes each.

Playing EPIGO is much more than playing a board position, trying to figure out your opponent is the key to success! No prior experience is necessary – and one of the best parts of EPIGO is that newer players always have a chance against more experienced opponents! If you want to learn the rules before you play, check out http://www.MasqGames.com

EPIGO also features a lot of variants, which will keep you on your toes!”

“Ever since it was established on the outskirts of Ravensburg, the Temple of the Frog has made people nervous. First it was the strange music and chanting, then it was the horrible smells, and now people are going missing, never to be heard from again. The town has asked for mighty heroes to save them from this menace. Are you one of those heroes?

BrickQuest is a dungeon delving game (along the lines of HeroQuest) built and played with Legos. Embrace your inner desire to have little plastic warriors, wizards, elves, and rogues defeat untold little plastic monsters.”
